Since the store's purchase by Steve and Herb Shapiro in
1970, the small 900 square foot store has grown and
expanded into a 7000 square foot store now located at
66 Morris Street with three additional stores in Chester
(1977), Montclair (1978), and Parsippany (1983).
Through the growth over the past 39 years The Health
Shoppe has continued it's commitment to providing true
health foods in the face of an industry riddled with
deception.

Brant Shapiro, son of Steve Shapiro, joined the store in
1990 and has brought his passion for local and artisan
foods to the market.  This can be noted most in our
Morristown and Chester stores with our delectable
selection of cheeses, honey, meat, flours and other
specialty regional products.

We offer organic produce in our salad bar, juice bar and
deli.  We meticulously scrutinize all of our products to
ensure the highest quality available.  Being a small
family run business, we are able to work closely with
area farmers to buy the freshest produce possible on a
regular basis.  We support local farmers markets and
other 'green' initiatives in the area.

Due to a growing interest in healthy diets, local foods
and home cooking, we have started a course of classes
focusing on just that.  From a one hour nutrition 101
class which includes a tour of the store, to a 2 ½ hour
raw food preparation class/meal that will leave
attendant’s belly’s full and spirits inspired.  The Health
Shoppe is committed to giving back to the community
that has supported it for the past 40 years and we
hope you come out to enjoy some of these classes.
